Alzheimer’s Awareness

The Traveling Purple Potty

The Community Skilled Health Care Centre in Warren has teamed up with the LaBrae K-12 complex to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s. The O.S.A.I.C. organization is excited to have been chosen to pilot this community event in support of Alzheimer’s Awareness. The Greater East Ohio Alzheimer’s Chapter is one of 77 chapters nationwide to offer frontline support to individuals affected by Alzheimer’s. The supports offered are designed to assist families in meeting the challenges of Alzheimer’s, and to help improve the quality of life for those affected.

March is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and we plan to fundraise beginning Monday, March 6th through March 31st. This will be a great opportunity for expanding community involvement, and with the help of radio, newspaper, and television connections, we are hoping for positive coverage for both Alzheimer’s Awareness and LaBrae for this fundraising effort with “The Traveling Purple Potty.” Throughout the month of March, we plan to hold a variety of fun activities in each building, and “The Potty” will attend the band concert on March 17th and the high school Talent Show on March 31th. Community Skilled Health Care Centre, LaBrae K-12 and O.S.A.I.C. look forward to the challenge, and we hope we can depend on our LaBrae community.
