A Call for the Public to Provide Ohio Feedback

The Every Student Succeeds Act, or ESSA, is the new No Child Left Behind law created by the federal government.  The new law will be fully implemented effective July 1, 2017.  The new law gives states greater flexibility in meeting the federal standards on testing and student achievement.  The Ohio Department of Education has released its draft plan on Ohio's approach to meeting the ESSA requirements.  Additionally, Ohio is providing opportunities for further input from the public regarding the plan.  Below is a copy of Ohio's draft plan.  Students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members are encouraged to review the draft plan and utilize the link below to provide public feedback.  This is an important opportunity for constituents to speak up and use their democratic voice to serve as an impetus for change.  Should you have any questions, please contact the Office of the Superintendent at 330.898.1393.
