Friday, March 24, 2017 - Here’s what’s happening:

Did you know: Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in Ohio.

Attention students and staff: It’s that time of the year again! The LaBrae’s Got Talent Show is next Friday, March 31st! We have singers, dancers, and bands that you won’t want to miss. Bring a friend and enjoy the show. Admission is $3.00 and all proceeds go to local charities and Alzheimer’s Awareness. Doors open at 5:30.  

 

Students and staff:  Our next fundraiser will be “A Pie” or Duct Tape” your favorite teacher and Administrator! Voting tables are set up during lunch and you can vote for as many teachers as you want and for as many days as you want. Each vote is $.50. The teacher with the most votes will be the winner of “A Pie” and “Duct Tape.” Voting will last through next Wednesday, March 29th, and we will “Pie” and “Duct Tape” next Thursday, March 30th during lunch. Let’s make this a great fundraiser! 

 

Attention anyone interested in playing volleyball this fall - there will be an informational meeting next Wednesday, March 29th in the high school cafeteria from 6-6:45. 

Attention OSAIC: Reminder: If you signed up to chaperone the dance Saturday night, please remember to be there by 5:45.

 

Attention students and staff: "March Madness" is here! The LaBrae yearbook will be on sale for $55.00 during the month of March ONLY. Don't Wait! The price of a yearbook will go up in April to $60.00. Give all order forms to Mrs. Aldridge in room 909.

 

In sports news:

 

Turning to the weather: Today will be warmer with a high around 67 and partly cloudy.

 

In the cafeteria today: BBQ rib sandwich, deli roasted potatoes and cauliflower with ranch.

Did you know: It is estimated that one to four family members act as caregivers for each individual with Alzheimer's disease.

 

Attention students and staff: It’s that time of the year again! The LaBrae’s Got Talent Show is next Friday, March 31st! We have singers, dancers, and bands that you won’t want to miss. Did you know: It is estimated that one to four family members act as caregivers for each individual with Alzheimer's disease.

 

Students and Staff: The high school raised $151.00 for both pajama day and hat day last week! Added to our previous week’s total, the high school has raised over $520.00 for Alzheimer’s Awareness. We have challenged the Intermediate and Bascom to match us. Way to go Vikes!

 

Our next fundraiser will be “A Pie” or Duct Tape” your favorite teacher and Administrator! Voting will start today during lunch. You can vote for as many teachers as you would like and for as many days as you would like. Each vote is $.50. The teacher with the most votes will be the winner of “A Pie” and “Duct Tape.” Voting will last all week and we will “Pie” and “Duct Tape” on Thursday, March 30th during lunch. Let’s make this a great fundraiser!

Did you know: It is estimated that about a half million Americans younger than age 65 have some form of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease.

 

Attention Soccer Conditioning Participants: Conditioning will be cancelled today due to change in schedule.  Regularly scheduled conditioning will resume next week.

Students: The basketball banquet will be held Sunday, March 26, at 6:00 pm, here in the complex cafeteria.  Players and cheerleaders, you must pick up your complimentary ticket in the athletic office and extra tickets can be purchased as well. Cost is $12.50 per ticket. 

 

Attention OSAIC members: Remember that we will be staying after school TODAY to decorate the Intermediate hallways. Also, if you volunteered to be at Friday night’s band concert to help with the Alzheimer’s fundraiser, please be there by 4:00.

Did you know:  Alzheimer's is caused by brain cell death. It is a neurodegenerative disease where cell death happens over a period of time. 

 

Attention Students: Hat Day is TOMORROW…early release day! To wear your hats, remember you MUST pay your Homeroom teacher $1.00 to participate. All money collected goes to the Alzheimer’s fundraiser, and OSAIC thanks you for participating in Pajama Day today to raise more awareness.

 

Students: The basketball banquet will be held Sunday, March 26, at 6:00 pm, here in the complex cafeteria.  Players and cheerleaders, you must pick up your complimentary ticket in the athletic office and extra tickets can be purchased as well. Cost is $12.50 per ticket.

Attention Students: OSAIC will sponsor Pajama Day TOMORROW March 16th. We will also have Hat Day on Friday…early release day! To wear your pajamas and hats, remember you MUST pay your Homeroom teacher $1.00 to participate. All money collected goes to Alzheimer’s Awareness.

 

Students: The basketball banquet will be held Sunday, March 26, at 6:00 pm, here in the complex cafeteria.  Players and cheerleaders, you must pick up your complimentary ticket in the athletic office and extra tickets can be purchased as well. Cost is $12.50 per ticket.

Attention students and staff:  Congratulations to Mrs. Helmick’s homeroom for raising the most money for Alzheimer’s Awareness! With everyone’s donations, the high school reached our minimum goal and raised $304.03! We now challenge the middle school to either match this amount or do better! Thank you for donating and supporting Alzheimer’s Awareness!

Did you know…In 2017, Alzheimer’s and other dementias will cost our nation $259 billion dollars.    By the year 2050, this number could rise as high as 1.1 trillion dollars!
