YSU's 23rd Annual Edward W. Powers Women in STEM - FREE LECTURE

YSU is offering their 23rd Annual Edward W. Powers Women in STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Career Workshop on Saturday, March 21, 2020. 

The Women in Science and Engineering Career Workshop will expose young women in grades 6-12 to career opportunities in science and technology.  In the morning, students will attend panels where women who are working scientists will answer qu3estions about their lives and careers.  Career Workshop panels are:  1. Dental Hygienist  2. Veterinarian, Psychiatrist, Physical, Forensic Scientist  3.  Diabetes, Nursing Educator, Pharmacist, Industrial Engineer, Biochemist   4.  Physician, Chemical Engineer, Physcial Therapist, Mechanical Engineer   5. Clinical Research Specialist, Mechanical Engineer, Chemist, Physical Therapist  6.  Neurophysiologist, Physical Therapist, Animal Care Technician, Mathematician                                                              7.  Special Topic, Women of Color in STEM.  The afternoon will be hands on activities and laboratory demonstrations.

                                               Registration:  8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020

                                              9:00 a.m. - Key Note Speaker - Dr. Michelle Goddard, PH.D., P.E.

                                            10:00 a.m. - Session 1

                                            10:45 a.m. - Session 2

                                            11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Lunch

                                            12:30 p.m. - Hands on Activities and Lab Demonstrations Session 1

                                              1:30 p.m. - Hands on Activities and Lab Demonstrations Session 2

                                          2:30 - 3 p.m. - Wrap-UP Session

Parents can also attend a meeting on Campus Tour, College Planning, and Financial Aid from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m
