Mrs. Smith's seniors are reminded to take any mythology props from her room.

 

Attention ALL SADD Members:

There will be a MANDATORY meeting during lunch on Monday, October 9th for ALL SADD Club members in room 607 in the Middle School.  Please check the SADD Club Google Classroom for more information.  We are NOT accepting any new members at this time.

 

Sign up for the YSU English Festival and receive your information packet from Mrs. Royal or Mrs. Helmick if you want to participate.

 

LaBrae Cheerleading:

There are 2 open spots for the JV Squad!

Clinics & Tryouts will be Saturday, October 14th from 10 am - 2 pm.

Sign up in the Athletic Office & take a packet.  There are only 5 tryout spots available!  The deadline to sign up is Monday, October 9th.

 

Ursuline College Writing Contest:

Open to all high school students, writers can submit either a poem, short story, essay or memoir for Ursuline College's annual writing contest.

"We've gone to the future and back to the past, let's focus on NOW.  Reimagine the present with Inscape."

Submissions are limited to 500 words

Three winners will be selected and published in Ursuline's annual literacy magazine, Inscape.

Cash prizes available:

$100 first place

$50 second place

$25 third place

Submissions are due before January 12, 2024.

 

Kent State University...

Kent State application Fees Waived: from October 1 - November 1, 2023!

Apply to Kent State for free through the Kent State App or the Common App.

Students will bypass the payment screens so no codes are needed.  Remember, November 1st is the priority application date.

 

VFW Voice of Democracy...

If you are interested in writing & recording an essay about "What are the greatest attributes of our democracy", stop in the School Counselor's Office for an entry form!  The patriotic audio essay competition Grand Prize is $35,000.00.

 

Art Contest:

The VFW Auxiliary National Scholarship is offering a Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest!  You could be awarded $15,000.00!!!  Stop in the School Counselor's Office to pick up an entry form!

 

Afternoon Detention will be in Room 804 with Mrs. Masters in the Middle School.  Please bring academic work to detention.

Homecoming Court:

There will be a meeting Tomorrow, September 28th during lunch in Señora Fee's Room 918.  You will be running through the ceremony on the field for Friday night.

 

Homecoming Information:

Today, September 27th is the last day to buy tickets. The Homecoming Game is on September 29th and Homecoming Dance is on Saturday September 30th from 7-10 pm in the Complex Cafe.  Tickets can be purchased from Señora Fee in RM918.  No tickets will be sold at the door!!  LaBrae student tickets are $20 and outside guest tickets are $25.  You must fill out an outside guest form before purchasing your tickets. 

Eligibility requirements to attend Homecoming:

Parent & Student Final Forms must be completed.

No more than 30 hours of missing school.

Cannot be failing more than 2 classes.

No out of school suspensions.

Fees must be $50 or less.
