Anyone interested in joining our new drone racing team?

Join our Google Classroom & fill out the interest form.  The class code is:  dzzpdzu.

 

Do you want to be a 6th Grade Camp Counselor?

Any Junior interested in becoming a 6th Grade Camp Counselor the week of May 20th - 24th, please sign-up in the Middle School Office.  There is an application that will need to be filled out and turned in.  The deadline for sign-ups and application submission is November 21st.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Hinzman in Room 611 in the Middle School.

LaBrae's Thanksgiving Food Drive will run through November 10, 2023.

Bring in nonperishable food items to your first-period class to help others this Thanksgiving.  Bring in bonus items for triple points!  The winning homeroom gets a breakfast treat from LaBrae NHS. 

Bonus Items:

Instant mashed potatoes, 5lb. bag of potatoes, boxed stuffing, canned vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots, peas, yams/sweet potatoes), au gratin potatoes, canned cranberry, canned mushroom soup, gravy (packets or bottled), French fried onion topping.  All other items are one positive point.

Time:         Registration begins @ 5:30 p.m.

                  Presentation begins @ 6:00 p.m.

ALL STUDENTS who are interested in taking CCP classes for the 2024-2025 school year are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian.

This event will inform parent(s) and students about important information and criteria needed in order to take a CCP class.

 

Soccer Banquet:

Banquet tickets are on sale until the end of the day today.  Players are free you just need to pick up your tickets, guest tickets will be $25 this year.  See Mrs. Brewster in the Attendance Office for your tickets!

 

Football Banquet:

The banquet is on November 9th.  Tickets are on sale until  the end of the day today.  Players are free and guests are $20.  Pickup your tickets in the Attendance Office.

 

Volleyball Banquet:

The banquet will be November 16th @ Sorrento's.  Pickup your tickets in the Attendance Office through November 10th.  Guest tickets are $25.

 

YSU English Festival 2024:

Your 1st book questionnaire is now late!  Talk to Mrs. Royal or Mrs. Helmick.  $10 registration fee is due by November 10th.

Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.  It brings millions of people together to raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.  It encourages youth to make positive, healthy choices.

Theme Days:

Friday, October 27th - "It's A Great Day To Be A Viking!"  Wear your Scarlet & Gray Viking Gear

 

YSU English Fest News:

$10 registration is due by November 10th to Mrs. Royal or Mrs. Helmick.

Red Ribbon Week is October 23rd through October 27th:

Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.  It brings millions of people together to raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.  It encourages youth to make positive, healthy choices.

Theme Days:

Tuesday, October 24th - "Team Up Against Drugs!"  Wear your favorite Team Jersey

Wednesday, October 25th - "Have The Power To Say NO Against Drugs!"  Wear your favorite Super Hero T-Shirt

Thursday, October 26th - "Watch Yourself & Say NO To Drugs!"  Wear your favorite Movie/TV Character T-Shirt

Friday, October 27th - "It's A Great Day To Be A Viking!"  Wear your Scarlet & Gray Viking Gear

 

Prep Bowl News:

The High School Prep Bowl Team will meet Tomorrow, October 24th during lunch in the lounge Room #226 across from the Band Room.  There are Varsity and JV spots open.  If you are interested in joining the team and are unable to attend, please see Mr. DiMuzio in Room 925.

 

Soccer Banquet:

Banquet tickets are on sale through November 6th.  Players are free you just need to pick up your tickets, guest tickets will be $25 this year.  See Mrs. Brewster in the Attendance Office for your tickets!

 

YSU English Fest News:

Your 1st book questionnaire is due Wednesday, October 25th.  $10 registration is due by November 10th to Mrs. Royal or Mrs. Helmick.

 

VFW Voice of Democracy...

If you are interested in writing & recording an essay about "What are the greatest attributes of our democracy", stop in the School Counselor's Office for an entry form!  The patriotic audio essay competition Grand Prize is $35,000.00. Deadline to apply is October 31, 2023.

 

Kent State University...

Kent State application fees waived:  from October 1 through November 1, 2023!

Apply to Kent State for free through the Kent State App or the Common App.

Students will bypass the payment screens so no codes are needed.  Remember, November 1st is the priority application date.

 

Picture Makeups/Retakes will be next Tuesday, October 31st.  Picture forms can be picked up in the office. 

 

Afternoon Detention will be with Mr. McNemar in Room 919.  Please bring academic work to detention.
